Celebration of Our Learning

RE - In our Christianity unit, we have been learning about stories in the Bible. We created artwork linked to the Creation story and reflected on which day we thought might be the most important. (January 2026)

English - Our English units this half term have been all about different traditional tales. The children have enjoyed using clues to guess the title of each new story. We have been writing all about characters using adjectives in our descriptions. (January 2026)

In PSHE, we have been talking about how we belong to different groups and how a sense of belonging makes us feel. We learned that we don’t all have to be the same as each other to belong together. We showed how we belong together at school by taking part in team games. (January 2026)

Maths journal work has been new for us this year. The children have an explore task and maths boxes with lots of resources they can use to try and find solutions. The children work and learn with a maths partner and record their ideas in their journals. (January 2026)

History - We stepped back in time to find out what life was like for children in Victorian times. We even went to a pretend Victorian School. We looked at lots of artefacts and became real life historians when we tried to figure out what each unusual object had been used for. (January 2026)

Art - We have explored how artists create different effects by using warm and cold colours (December 2025)

History - We have looked at family trees including the Royal Family (December 2025)

Maths - We have been learning about number bonds and part-part whole models (December 2025)

PSHE - Our focus has been on families this term - we have thought about our circles of care and who is in them (December 2025)

RE - We had a fabulous hands on learning session to explore the meaning of the Nativity story (December 2025)

Writing - We have used colourful semantics to improve our sentence structures (December 2025)
